3 Things I have Learned From Having A Blog

So it’s been 5 months since I have started writing on my blog. It has been a ride. There are some mistakes that I made but for today, I want to write about the things I’ve learned from making a blog

  1. Discovering My Love For Writing

I found out that I love to write after I have started writing my blogs weekly. I would always get excited to write down my idea first and then expand my idea.

When I write, it feels like time is no existent. I found out what flow time means through writing because when I write or type on my laptop, it feels like time run by so quickly.

Like when I wrote my first blog about how being an extrovert don’t matter in making friends (speaking from personal experience here),

At first, I was anxious to type down what I had to say, But then I started to write and write more and soon the words flow freely in my head.

Then when I published it, I had a good welcome. Some of my friends commented and share my blog, and it made me happy. Turns out what I have to write has meaning after all.

2. Learning To Face Writer’s Block

Writing isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Like the article that I regret writing was The Reality Of Life, where I listed what life really is. It is a bit choppy and I’m sure no one quite understand what I tried to say.

When I wrote that article, I was having a writer’s block. But deep down I knew if I didn’t publish it, I wouldn’t push through my writer’s block.

So I published it and here we are. Nothing bad happened. Like every now and then I kinda cringe a little seeing it on my blog, but it’s a reminder that the important thing is to show my work.

And after writing my blog, I got inspired. I wrote Warning For Year 2070. That was a fun blog post. I was inspired by every dystopia content that I consumed and put it into writing.

I knew that post would be a sore thumb amongst my other post but I thought “screw it”. No one really cares and on the end of the day, it’s my blog.

3. Not Being Shy

Now I can certainly say that I’m not shy in showing my ideas or my work to the world. It gave me the confidence I needed that my ideas aren’t rubbish.

I think the thing that holds me back from putting myself out there is that either a) everyone will hate my work or b) someone will hold my blog against me.

But I was wrong because no one cares. Luckily I haven’t received any hate comments and even if I did, I would brush it off. Because if there’s one thing that I learned from writing my blog is that people’s opinions are out of my control .

I realized that not all my blog aren’t perfect, but I don’t care. I know that with time I will get better. But for now I’m just going to keep on writing and see where it goes.
